Originally intended to be a novel based on real events, I adapted Oranya as a film project that went on to win the Brazilian national Audiovisual Sectorial Fund 2014/2015 Selection for Film Development Sponsorship, the National ANCINE Selection for international projects of that year, and was selected by the Moscow Festival’s Business Square Forum.
For its intensive scriptwriting, the project involved extensive historical research, as well as in-loco research in Brazil and Europe. It also included all pre-production development actions from photography planning to budgeting.
